Truck Bed Covers We Recommend
Overview
It is very important to remember that some bed covers do not use standard clamps, instead, they use features in the truck bed such as pockets, threads, or holes in the truck bed to mount the bed cover. If your bed cover uses anything other than regular clamps to mount, then your setup may need modifications. The modifications are usually very minor and easily done, and shouldn’t damage your truck. In most cases, bed covers do not need any modifications to fit, but in some cases there may be a custom bracket or some self tapping screws that may be needed. Almost all bed covers that use standard clamps will fit the truck bed raiser. With this in mind, the truck bed raiser is designed to fit all types of bed covers, including: Roll up, retractable, soft folding, and hard folding covers.
Bed covers that use standard clamps will mount and function properly with the Truckify Bed Raiser. However, some covers work better than others depending on how much they hang over the bed rails. Top mounted bed covers may stick over the sides of your truck bed raiser. If your cover overhangs more than 3.25" on each side, it may not work with some accessories for the Truck Bed Raiser. Follow the steps below to measure your cover’s width.
1. Take a measurement of the inside width of the truck’s bed rails both at the front and the rear of the truck bed, and write the measurements down.
Example: This truck measures 62" at the rear, and 63.5" at the front of the bed.
2. Next, take a measurement of the very outside widths of your bed cover, both at the front and rear of the cover.
Example: This cover measures 67.5" at the rear, and 67.5" at the front.
3. Subtract The Rear: Rear Inside Bed Width (62") - Rear Bed Cover Width (67.5") = 5.5" Rear Overhang
Divide By 2: 5.5" Rear Overhang / 2 = 2.75" (Rear Overhang On Each Side)
Subtract The Front: Front Inside Bed Width (63.5") - Front Bed Cover Width (67.5") = 4" Front Overhang
Divide By 2: 4" Front Overhang / 2 = 2" (Front Overhang On Each Side)
4. Check your overhang on each side.
Will the bed cover stick past the sides of the truck bed raiser?
Yes, if the Overhang on Each Side is greater than 3.25"
No, if the Overhang on Each Side is less than 3.25”
(Example: No, this cover will not stick past, because the Overhang On Each Side is 2.75" at the rear, and 2" at the front, and each of these numbers are less than 3.25")
A bed cover that sticks past the outsides of the Truck Bed Raiser will still function properly, however, it may cause some accessories that use the T-Slots to not work, such as the rack system.
